Welcome! Here’s all you need to know about programmes, resources and opportunities for school groups and teachers at our sites. We offer onsite sessions for schools and have lots of resources to support you in the classroom. Browse our offer for primary, secondary and SEND schools below. All our schools programmes focus on using our collections to support enquiry, discussion and creativity. If you're looking for schools programmes on astronomy, head over to the science learning team at the Royal Observatory.
We are making significant improvements to the building at the National Maritime Museum from spring 2024 to summer 2025. We are still welcoming schools during this time but there are a few changes that you need to be aware of:
- The central square (with glass roof) will be closed to the public until summer 2025
- All visitors must arrive at the Park entrance via King William Walk
- All galleries on the first and second floors will remain open with a new recommended visitor route.

Bookings for the 2024-25 academic year will open:
- September - December 2024 school visits - bookings open 3 July 2024
- January - July 2025 school visits - bookings open in the Autumn Term
- January - July 2025 KS3-5 National Maritime Museum Sessions only - if you would like to register your interest for these sessions please email learning@rmg.co.uk once bookings open in July
