In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
I am informed that George Everett has advised the Commissioners of the Navy about an invention to keep a dock dry. It is my invention and not Everett's and he has tried to take it out of my hands. I have petitioned His Majesty in Council to put a stop to his unjust procedings and to grant me a patent. Signed John Sartain, Shipwright, Chatham Dockyard.
