A Thornycroft V/12 marine petrol engine in the Hampton boatyard
A rear view of a completed Thornycroft V/12, 250 bhp, petrol engine mounted on a wooden transport cradle on the quayside of the Thornycroft boatyard on Platt's Eyot at Hampton-on-Thames. Engine no. is B 1386 and it was delivered on 4 May 1916. The photographer is looking down on the engine as the forward end is being lifted to give him an aerial type view. Vertical format.
