In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

Sir Richard Beach informs that he has been on board the RUPERT and paid off those men turned over on the CENTURION and GUERNSEY, and that almost one thousand pounds remains of that money left by the Clerks for paying them off, so that five or six hundred pounds now would pay off all of the BRISTOL's men that remain on board the RUPERT.
We directed him to cause the said one thousand pounds to be paid them as far as it would go, letting him know that the remainder would come to him by the KATHERINE Yacht. If she is delayed before the RUPERT sails give directions for the Clerk and money to be brought back in the Yacht after paying WARSPIGHT in the Downs, and also give notice to Sir Richard Beach to take up so much money as he says will complete the payment of the BRISTOL men on the RUPERT by the Clerk of the Cheque at Portsmouth, and repay the same by the Navy Treasurer upon the return of the money and Clerk in the Yacht, or if there is difficulty in this at Portsmouth remit the sum necessary for this service some other way.
