On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Falmouth (1959) alongside the Swan, Hunter & Wigham Richardson Ltd fitting out berth at Wallsend on the River Tyne between 1 and 25 July 1961. The photographer is in the seamen's mess between 14¾ and 19 stations on 3 deck looking forward and to starboard from 18½ station on the starboard side of the mess showing a table and bench seat in the centre with two settee bunks and an air circulating fan against the ship's side. The settees are hinged up. Four kit lockers are against the forward bulkhead. On the left are an air conditioning unit and a hammock stowage bin.
