On board the Type 12 frigate HMS Berwick (1959) alongside the south wall in No.3 basin at Chatham Dockyard, near the end of her modernization which commenced 4 December 1967 and completed 4 June 1971. The photographer is on the hangar roof at 01 deck level looking aft and down at the flight deck between 57 and 67 stations on 1 deck. The replenishment at sea (RAS) mast is rigged in the centre of the deck and awning stanchions are also rigged. The deck letters BK are prominent. The Limbo mortar well and quarterdeck are in the background. The ship is berthed starboard side to the wall.
