The harbour at Hammerfest, Norway. The photographer is looking south into the harbour from the east side showing a number of motor fishing vessels and other smaller boats packed in. In the buildings on the quayside are the premises of Harald Jensen Skotoimagasin og Laerhandel and C.F. Knobloch Kolonial Kruston and Feddersen & Nissen. The Parish Church is in the background and the clock is reading 10.40. The town of Hammerfest was totally destroyed by German forces in early 1945 and none of the buildings in this photograph survived.
