Small craft (1750); Ship's Boat
Scale: 1:24. A contemporary full hull model a four-oared ship's boat (circa 1750), built and carved from the solid in the Georgian style. Model is complete with four oars, tiller and rudder for steering, and six large water barrels. Measuring 32 feet by 7 feet in the beam, it was an all purpose boat used for the transport of personnel and stores. When not in use, it could either be hoisted aboard and stowed in the waist between the fore and mainmasts, or towed astern and used in the event of an emergency of man over board.
