Five Lascar seamen on board a Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation company cruise ship of the Ranpura class (1925).
Five Lascar seamen on board a Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation company cruise ship of the Ranpura class (1925). They are standing by one of the deck cranes and the bosun, or serang, is in the middle with the whistle. This negative was originally identified by the Marine Photo Service as being on board the Viceroy of India (1929) but this ship never had deck cranes of the lattice jib type. This is on board one of Ranpura (1925), Ranchi (1925), Rawalpindi (1925) or Rajputana (1926).
