Saturday Art Club Tutor

The Museum is seeking a skilled creative practitioner to lead the 2024-2025 Saturday Art Club, based at the NMM and utilising RMG's collections. The Tutor will design and deliver creative sessions for young people aged 13-16 years, covering a range of art forms and themes, drawing on the unique collections and providing high quality creative experiences.

Fee: £6,700 (Freelance contract, fee subject to national insurance and tax deductions)

Saturday Art Club Creative Assistant

The Museum is looking to recruit an emerging creative facilitator to support the delivery of the 2024-25 season of the Saturday Art Club, based at the National Maritime Museum. The Creative Assistant will work closely with the Saturday Art Club Tutor to support all aspects of session delivery. This includes session set up and take down, organising materials, and registering and releasing young people each session. The Creative Assistant will work directly with young people, supporting them to take part, and supporting those with learning or access support needs.  

The Creative Assistant will need to be available for all the sessions and for some planning sessions and training outside of the scheduled programme.  

Fee: £3,610 (Freelance contract, fee subject to national insurance and tax deductions)

Creative Practitioner (Families)

Family Engagement programmes are based at the National Maritime Museum, Cutty Sark, Queen’s House and Prince Philip Maritime Collection Centre. 

Family Engagement aims to create a family friendly space that is accessible, welcoming, and that supports all families to make connections and spend time together. Programming is responsive to the needs of families, unique to each site, audience-led, and accessible (culturally, physically, neurodevelopmentally and socially).  

Programming can take the form of: 

  • Large-scale festivals 

  • Drop in workshops 

  • Audience-specific sessions (i.e. under 5s)

Fee: This role is paid in line with RMG's freelancer rates. E.g. currently £55 planning fee per session, £190 delivery fee (4-6 hours deliver).
