In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Enclosing a copy of the Petition of Sir William Gore Contractor, requesting permission to buy certain goods that were aboard the ship PEACE when she was taken by a French Privateer based in Holland and supposedly deposited in Dunkirk, in order to fulfil his contract with the Navy. The Navy Board is requested to enquire into the matter and to Advise the Admiralty as to how they should proceed.
