In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
The BERWICK is to be paid off. The members of her crew who were turned over into the CHICHESTER, NORTHUMBERLAND and LENOX are to be paid the wages due to them for their time in the BERWICK; and confirming that the WOOLWICH is to be repaired at Mr James Tayler's Yard at Redrith following a survey; and that the QUAKER Ketch is to be cleaned, refitted and provisioned for service in the Channel on arrival at Portsmouth. The UNITY, currently at the Nore and destined for New England, is to be forthwith supplied with six month's Provisions and any necessary Stores. The Navy Board has informed the Admiralty that five Machine Vessels including the HOPEWELL, BLESSING, SECOND ENDEAVOUR, MAYFLOWER and GRAFTON are due to be sold; but the Admiralty now wants them quickly repaired and put back into service together with the SEAHORSE, FIRST ENDEAVOUR, OWNER'S GOODWILL Hoy and the JOHN & MARTHA Smack which are to be fitted out as soon as possible.
