In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

Mr Edward Whittaker the Solicitor to the Navy has informed the Admiralty that a petitioner, Luke Bennet, has discovered a fraud involving false Letters of Administration issued to Anne Pearson who has impersonated the sister of John Hardy. Pearson has been convicted and pilloried; but bennet has received no reward. Instructions are given for Bennet to receive the same amount of money he would originally have received had there been no deception.
