Document signed by Josiah Burchett (c.1666-1746), Secretary to the Admiralty (1694-1742)
I received your letter yesterday about the ADVICE, which is ordered to go round England, and in order thereto to proceed North about Scotland and cruise to the westward of Ireland till her provisions are nearly expended, so that by the time she comes to Plymouth she will want cleaning, for which reason the Orders from the Admiralty Commissioners on that behalf are herwith returned to you.
I must confess it would not have been amiss if the Orders had been a little explained, the Ship being so lately fitted.
