In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

Your report of 30 July has given an account of the failure of Captain Frederick Barker on the performance of his instructions during his command of the LYON as the reason why he has not received his wages. We do direct you to mulck [fine] him 3 months pay out of the wages due him for his failure, as a saving for the King. You are also to take care that if he has borne any men either in wages or victuals longer than he ought, or supernumeraries without order, then the same is to be made good from his pay.
