Document signed by William Bridgeman, c.1646-1699, English civil servant and Secretary to the Admiralty between 1694 and 1698.
In answer to your letter of 2 August, orders were sent for the SAMUEL AND HENRY now bound for the East Country, to convoy Mr Martin's two ships freighted with Stockholm tar. Direction is also sent for the first ship sent from the Downes to the Nore to be convoyed thence to carry masts to the Straits.
