In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Your letter of 7 August advised our Secretary that a survey of the HENRY prize shows she has a half deck capable of carrying 8 guns on which she has but 4 guns. Being a great bodied ship, in burthen 220 tons, your opinion is that she be allowed 2 guns more for the half deck and an addition of 10 men. You are directed to have the half deck shortened during her refitting at Sheerness and, as there may be ports for no more than the 4 guns she now carries that is all we think fit to allow her. The 10 men may be added to her complement as you propose.
