In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

Several seamen are daily deserting from His Majesty's ships in the Downes and we have given orders to the Constables of Deal, Dover and other places, that for each seaman that they deliver to the Muster Master at Deal as a deserter they shall receive 20 shillings. You are directed to give the necessary orders to the Muster Master to pay this sum and to take receipts for any person he pays. You are to imprest money to the Muster Master to defray these charges.
