In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
The machine and smoking vessels and the small craft which tended them, have been ordered to come from the Downes to the Buoy of the Nore, where they will be supplied with men to bring them up the river. You are directed to have these men discharged from the service upon their arrival in the river and to pay their companies the wages due them on board the ROYAL CATHERINE at the Nore. Whereas the CHARLES fireship was by order of Lord Berkeley, Admiral of the Blue, burnt against the Quinze Rock at St Malo on 5 July, you are to have the officers and company of the ship paid the wages due to them.
