In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Sir Timothy Tyrell, executor for his son Captain John Tyrell deceased, has petitioned the Lords Justices that his son expended several sums of money for the impressing and conveying seamen in several ships in which he had command, which amounted to £135. Captain Tyrell gave an account of this but died before he could make an oath in support and upon the petioner's application for this money he was told it could not be paid without a particular order. You are directed, in pursuance of an order from the Lords Justices in Council dated 1 August, to pay the petitioner money expended by Captain Tyrell, notwithstanding that Captain Tyrell died before making oath or providing vouchers.
