Document signed by Sir Cloudesley Shovell, 1650-1707, rear-admiral, and promoted Admiral of the Blue in 1696.
Captain Greenway has given in his weekly account that a great part of the false keel of the ELIZABETH is broke off and the remainder is jagged, which is dangerous for the ship in riding as the jaggedness of the keel is apt to cut her cable as she swings to and fro over it.
