In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
We have received a letter from one John Smith giving an account of several loads of timber taken from Chatham yard and that one piece was found in William Harman's barn at Gillingham. We enclose the letter and direct you to make inquiry into the matter and to recover the timber or the value thereof and to prosecute the offenders. In case you find that what John Smith says is true, you are to give him a reward.
