In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
We have considered your letter of 23 August, enclosing one from Mr Whittaker, and your observation on the inconvenience of paying persons who seize the King's goods, the third part of the value before the offenders are convicted. You are directed that in future no person who seizes embezzled stores shall be paid until the persons accused are convicted of the fact and the goods proved to be the King's.
