In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Acknowledging that the Marquis of Carmarthen, complete with Barge Crew and retinue, has taken charge of the new 6th Rate recently launched at Chatham; and informing that the King has agreed that Carmarthen should trial the ship for her sailing qualities. An instruction is given to formalise the arrangement by entering Carmarthen, his Barge Crew and retinue on that ship.
