In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
The RAINBOW has been used as a breakwater at the back of the graving dock at Sheerness but has been badly damaged in a recent storm to the extent that any further deterioration will render the graving dock unusable in bad weather. She has also become a hazard to shipping. Agreement is given for the TIGER Prize to put into a condition to proceed to Sheerness as a replacement; but she is not to be sunk until further notice.
