In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

The Navy Board has been ordered to find out why the fitting out of the two Advice Boats at Plymouth destined for service with the East India Company has been so protracted. Meanwhile, a Certificate has been received from Mr Snelgrove of Deptford claiming that a new Advice Boat has been built there during the time that the Advice Boats at Plymouth were being attended to. The Navy Board is placed under strict orders to establish why the fitting out of the Advice Boats at Plymouth has taken so long and to give their opinion as to who was responsible so that they may be punished. A copy of the Certificate is enclosed.
