Document signed by William Bridgeman, c.1646-1699, English civil servant and Secretary to the Admiralty between 1694 and 1698.

Acknowledging receipt of a copy of a letter from Thomas Sanders, Master of the ANNE Hoy laden with sheathing board and other Stores for Portsmouth and informing that an Order has been sent to Captain Fairbourne Commander in Chief of ships in the Downs to instruct the first of the ships westward bound to convoy the Hoy to Spithead; but if no ship departs before he does, then to convoy the Hoy himself. The writer suspects that the delay is the fault of the Master of the Hoy who should have sailed with the SAPHIRE when she departed for Spithead.
