In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
The Navy Board has written to the Secretary of the Admiralty Board with a copy to the Treasurer of the Navy stating that the Comptroller has returned from paying the ships at Spithead and Portsmouth due to lack of ready money and that the service has come to a full stop. However, the Navy Board claims that according to the last Certificate issued by the Treasurer to the Navy a large sum of money should still be available. The Navy Board is instructed to make immediate enquiries as to whether the funds are readily available and why they have not been distributed.
