In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Enclosure: Copy of a letter from Captain Thompson of the NEW AFRICA at Blackwall in which he reports a shortfall in labour coming from Woolwich to assist in clearing the Ship of empty casks and provisions and although he has been in touch with both Deptford and Woolwich Yards no extra men have appeared. Part of the problem is that both water and beer casks are buried in the ship's ballast and his own crew have had little success in reaching them.
