Document signed by William Bridgeman, c.1646-1699, English civil servant and Secretary to the Admiralty between 1694 and 1698.

Captain St. Lo, Commissioner of the Navy at Plymouth, has informed the Admiralty Commissioners of the need for Masts at that Port. They have commanded me to send an extract of his letter enclosed for your information. As their Lordships have not approved the appointment of M. La Croix, a Frenchman recommended by Commissioner Tynewell to be a Surgeon of the Yard at Kinsale, they have directed that you recommend some other person for that employment. Orders have been sent to Sir Cloudesley Shovell to send immediately a 4th Rate Ship to the Nore to Convoy the Victuallers and Storeships bound from there to the Fleet in the Western Ports.
