In answer to your letter of yesterday concerning the Stores which are to be sent to the HAMPSHIRE, RESERVE and SWAN at Jamaica, I am commanded to inform you that the Fleet being ordered to Spithead with all the outward bound Trade, it is the direction of the Admiralty Commissioners that you order the Vessel with the Stores for these Ships to proceed to Spithead along with the Fleet, and when she arrives there notice will be given as to which Ships shall receive these in order to be carried to Jamaica. Having received a letter from Captain Townsend, Commander of the LYNN, concerning his Surgeon, their Lordships have commanded me to send you a Copy, and ask that you let them know why a second Surgeon has been appointed to her.
