In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
A Commission was granted by Sir Francis Wheeler, C-in C of HM Ships in the West Indies, dated 31st May 1693, for Captain Richard Athey to be Captain of the CANTERBURY, and another dated 29th June 1693 for him to be Captain of the OWNERS LOVE Fireship. We direct you to cause the Wages due to Captain Athey for the time he commanded these Ships to be paid, if you have no objection other than his Commission not being renewed by this Board.
