Document signed by William Lowndes, 1652-1724, Secretary to the Treasury (from 1695) under King William III and Queen Anne

By Order of the Treasury Commissioners I am sending you the enclosed letter from Lord Berkeley relating to the clothing of his Regiment for the year 1694. Also a memorial of Richard Cordwent for payment of the money due to him for closing the said Regiment in 1695, amounting to about four thousand pounds. Their Lordships direct you to consider and certify them a true state of the matter, together with your opinion of what should be done.
