In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
We are informed that the MARY, Thomas Gentle, and the WILLIAM & ELIZABETH, Richard Tregian, Master, which were to proceed to the Straits with Rear Admiral Nevill, with provisions for 4000 men for a month, are left behind at Plymouth as they could not proceed from Portsmouth in time without proper orders. You are directed to make enquiry as to the reasons for this and to give an account that we may communicate this to the King.
