In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
You are directed to have the officers and men of the BURFORD turned over to the LYON. …Captain Munden, Commander-in-Chief at the Nore, advises us that the BLAZE fireship has been left behind from the convoy gone to the East Country and we have directed that she stay at the Nore. As she is already sheathed we direct that she be fitted as one of the two fireships by our order of today's date. Captain Munden advises us that the reason for the BLAZE not sailing with the convoy was the want of a pilot. You are to make enquiry into this and give us an account.
