In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Mr Whittaker, Solicitor for the Affairs of the Admiralty, informs us that John King has given information against Leah Wilkinson for several forgeries committed by her mother Ann Low on seamen's tickets wherein she was assisting. Leah Wilkinson has paid back to the Treasurer of the Navy the sum of £50 wrongly received by her, in order to have a Noli Proseque to her indictment. The matter is not yet fully determined by this Board and John King has made application to us for the moiety of the £50. You are directed to sign a bill on the Treasurer of the Navy for the moiety of the £50 in consideration of the discovery made by him and to encourage others to do the like.
