Document signed by William Bridgeman, c.1646-1699, English civil servant and Secretary to the Admiralty between 1694 and 1698.
We understand from your letter of 17 November, that Henry Jubber, late Master of the KATHERINE hoy, laden with naval stores and taken by the enemy, is returned to Pool. Their Lordships have ordered the Chief Flag Officer at Spithead to inquire into the loss of the KATHERINE at a Court Martial, and have directed Captain Warner, late Commander of the ISABELLA yacht and witness for Henry Jubber, to attend the trial at Portsmouth. You are to order Henry Jubber and his witness to repair to Portsmouth to go on board the Flag at Spithead, that the matter may be tried accordingly.
