Document signed by Josiah Burchett (c.1666-1746), Secretary to the Admiralty (1694-1742)

Their Lordships have considered your letter of 21 November about the ships for Chatham which are now at Spithead, and must be cleaned and refitted at Portsmouth. You are advised that the DEVONSHIRE must likewise be cleaned and refitted there and the Chief Flag Officer has orders to send her into harbour as soon as she arrives at Spithead.
