You are directed to have the ships listed here, which are to be in the main fleet next summer, to be victualled with 4 months provisions and 8 weeks beer for the 1st and 2nd Rates, and 10 weeks beer for those of the 3rd Rate. They are also to have an extra allowance of water casks, as was ordered for the fleet last year. You are to have the provisions sent down with all dispatch and to take care that the whole quantity of victuals is in kind and not any by money or credit. If the ships should spend any of their sea provisions then the same may, from time to time, be made good to them, so that the fleet shall have on board their whole provisions on 1 May next.
