In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

The Act of Parliament for Registering Seamen includes a penalty of £100 on any person making a false declaration of entry in the name of any but the true person. The Commissioners of the Registry desire that they be empowered to detain any person making false entry and hold them in custody until they have made the necessary enquiry. You are directed that if at any time the Commissioners of the Registry apply to you in relation to any persons making false declaration, you are to take care that these persons are secured and, if cause is found, they be put in the hands of justice.
