In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
We direct you to cause the Masts, Yards, and Sails of the ROYAL TRANSPORT to be surveyed by some experienced Sea Officers, and opine if she can be employed as a cruising Frigate, and what number of Men may be proper for her, and what Provisions she can conveniently stow.
You are also to cause the DUNKIRK to be paid off and put into Ordinary, and repairs taken in hand with dispatch.
You are to consider whether it is fit to set up any fifth or sixth Rates anywhere but in the King's Yards, and let us know what Ships of those Rates you propose to set up in these Yards.
The Paymaster of the Navy Treasury is having difficulty over the accounting for the sixpences deducted monthly out of Seamen's Wages for Greenwich Hospital. You are to consider this, and the methods to be taken to make the same most expeditious.
