At a Court Martial held on board the MONMOUTH on the 4th December 1696, Captain Minden, C-in-C of HM Ships in the Rivers Thames and Medway, President, Thomas Dobbins, Master of the DEFIANCE, was rendered incapable of serving as a Master in any of HM Ships.
We are sending you a Copy of the said sentence enclosed, and direct you to take notice of the same, and to take care that another Master is appointed to the said Ship.
