In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
You have informed us that the new 2nd Rate Ship building at Portsmouth (which we have named the ASSOCIATION and established with the same number of Men and nature of Guns as allowed to the VANGUARD) will be ready to launch by the first of next month.
We direct you to cause her to be launched at that time or as soon as convenient, fitted out for Channel service as one of Ships for the Main Fleet, manned with her highest complement of Men, and victualled in the same manner as the other Ships on that service.
