Document signed by Josiah Burchett (c.1666-1746), Secretary to the Admiralty (1694-1742)

The Admiralty Commissioners have received a letter from Captain John Fletcher, second Captain of the BRITANNIA, requesting some allowance for conducting the Ships that sailed from the Nore to the Coast of France at the beginning of the War. Their Lordships have commanded me to transmit to you a copy of his letter, and of Sir Cloudesley Shovell's Certificate for his said Service, in order you may consider it and report your opinion what should be done.
