Document signed by Josiah Burchett (c.1666-1746), Secretary to the Admiralty (1694-1742)
The Admiralty Commissioners have no Frigates within their reach other than those employed in necessary service. They have written to the Lord Justices of Ireland to appoint one of the Ships under their orders to convoy the Ship which will load with Timber at Wexford, to Kinsale, so soon as she shall be loaded, and you are to direct the Clerk of the Cheque at Kinsale to inform the Lord Justices so that they know when to send the Convoy.
Your letter of the 25th also informs that another Ship will load at Cork and a third at Kilmore. This Convoy will be ordered to call for her at Cork, and their Lordships intend to appoint one of the Cruisers in the Soundings, or Cape Clear, to take care of the ship at Wexford.
