In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
We direct you to cause the GREYHOUND to be laid up and paid off at Portsmouth, and that the Men lent to her by the WARSPITE or any other Ship at Portsmouth be returned to their proper ships, and if on board GREYHOUND are any Men that actually belong to her, besides Commission and Warrant Officers and their Servants they are to be put on board one of the Ships at Spithead, where they are to be paid.
Your letter of the 25th informed us that by our Order you wrote to Surgeons Hall to appoint Thomas Bayle to be Surgeon of the DUKE, but they have appointed John Somerville to that employment. We direct you to cause Bayle to be put into the DUKE, and that Somerville be provided for in the next third, second or first Rate vacant.
