In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
We direct you to cause all possible dispatch to be made in getting the SUNDERLAND out of Portsmouth harbour.
The Captains of the SOUTHSEA CASTLE and JOLLY Prize at Plymouth have informed us that they have lain several days there for want of Provisions. You are to give immediate Orders to the Victuallers to supply them there.
You are to ask the Merchants trading to the Plantations whether they are willing to receive on board their Ships some Men to be carried there for the King's Service, and give them passage and victualls for their labour, and let us know what you do.
Mr Snelgrove has made a Tender to us of a Frigate he has built in the River Thames of the Mould of the TRIDENT, which will carry about thirty eight Guns.
You are to cause the Ship to be surveyed and report to us your opinion whether she is fit to serve as a man of war.
