In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

Having been informed that the CROWN is not in a condition to undertake a voyage to the West Indies and that the BONAVENTURE at Plymouth is already sheathed Instructions are given for her to be fitted and victualled at Plymouth and to proceed to Newfoundland via Portugal. A report on the condition of the CROWN is called for together with a recommendation for a ship to take her place.
