In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Requiring the ST. LEWIS and the RAINBOW both bought Prizes at Portsmouth to be fitted out as 5th Rates as a matter of urgency for service in the Channel. The ST. LEWIS is to receive the same armaments as the SWEEPSTAKES and the RAINBOW as one of the new 5th Rates. The ships are to be entered on the List of the Navy with the names given above and established accordingly, manned with the highest complement of Men and supplied with ten weeks victuals.
