In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Authorising the payment of the late Captain John Papwell's wages to his widdow following the taking of the BETTY Hired ship, as also the payment of the wages due to the Officers and Company of the ST. JOHN Advice Boat up to the time she was also taken by the enemy. The SWAN and the THUNDERBOLT have been ordered to Bristol from where they are to convoy Merchant ships to Virginia, after which they are to cruise in the Bristol Channel. The Commissioners for Victualling are to be instructed to ensure that they are supplied with victuals from Bristol either by the Commissioners themselves or the vessels' owners.
